Peak autumn is just around the corner. The high-season for every landscape-photographer!

I kicked off this season with a few outings in my nearby woodlands, Bymarka in Trondheim. While nights are chilly, days are still sunny and warm. Perfect conditions for making some wonderful morning fog.

This particular morning in the beginning of September I visited the lake Leirsjøen. I know that this area is particular prone to morning fog, and there is a picturesque small island with two good looking trees on it in the middle of the lake. Fog separates this island from the background and makes for a really nice subject, or focal point if you will.

I arrived well before sunrise and found the lake and nearby forest covered in dens fog. From numerous previous visits I knew a few compositions that would work and I had all the time in the world to wander around and wait for the right light. Around sunrise the fog started to lift and I had perfect conditions.
All images captured with Hasselblad X2D and the great 35-75mm zoom.

Since this I have visited Rondane National Park and Romsdalen. New stories and galleries to come soon!
